sigh
The first info meeting for the exchange to Japan was
today. The only real info they gave us was that because too many
people applied to go to Japan, in order to let as many people go as
possible they've made it so we all only get to go for a single
semester (unless enough people decide not to go after all), so I'll be
going for just a half-year instead of the original year. I might be
able to extend my stay later, they don't know yet. They also said it's
basically impossible for the Japanese school to reject us at this
point so it IS certain that I'm going, at least.

The next stage is to get a packet of info from the Japanese school
that lets me choose my classes and housing and things, which is going
to come anywhere from a couple weeks to a couple months from now. In
the meantime I'm just working on studying Japanese as much as I can so
that my chances of getting a job while there are higher.
